Grille Letter Overlays for Ford Bronco 2021-2027

Ford Bronco Trims Explained: Base to Raptor, Plus Sasquatch

Ford brought the Bronco back for the 2021 model year in two-door and four-door body styles, and the trim lineup has been reshuffled several times since. Whether you are shopping used, ordering parts or decoding a listing, it helps to know what each name meant and when it was offered.

Bronco or Bronco Sport?

The Bronco Sport is a separate vehicle built on the Ford Escape platform. It launched with its own engines and an eight-speed automatic, and it uses independent rear suspension. The Bronco shares its platform with the Ford Ranger pickup and has a solid rear axle, so parts for one generally won't fit the other.

The core trims

Equipment notes describe the 2021 versions unless another year is given.

Trim Aimed at Notes
Base A simple 4x4, or a starting point for customizing Steel wheels and cloth seats at launch. Dropped for 2024, back for 2025.
Big Bend More comfort and convenience with some trail ability LED headlights, alloy wheels and all-terrain tires. Four-door only at launch and again from 2025. The entry trim for 2024.
Black Diamond Budget-minded off-roading Heavy-duty bumpers, rock rails, skid plates and marine-grade vinyl seats. Became a Big Bend package for 2025.
Outer Banks Road comfort and a more upscale feel Heated cloth front seats and 18-inch wheels at launch.
Badlands Rock crawling and technical trails Front stabilizer bar disconnect, 33-inch tires and seven G.O.A.T. drive modes, including Rock Crawl and Baja.
Wildtrak High-speed desert driving Sasquatch and the 2.7-liter V6 with the automatic were standard. Dropped for 2025, back for 2026 as a package on Badlands.

Special trims and editions

  • First Edition (2021): A limited launch model mixing Badlands hardware, Outer Banks interior features and Wildtrak exterior details, with the Sasquatch and Lux packages.
  • Everglades (2022 to 2024): A four-door with a factory Warn winch on a modular front bumper, a snorkel intake, raised vents, a 36.4-inch wading depth, Sasquatch and the 2.3-liter engine. Production ended in August 2024.
  • Heritage Edition (from 2023): A retro-styled Big Bend with a white roof, white wheels, plaid seats, Sasquatch and the 2.3-liter engine with a manual or automatic. The two-door was dropped for 2025.
  • Heritage Limited Edition (2023 and 2024): Based on Badlands, with the 2.7-liter V6, the automatic and Robin's Egg Blue paint. Ford set 2023 production at 1,966 per body style.
  • Raptor (from 2022): A four-door-only desert runner with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 418 hp and 440 lb-ft for 2022, 37-inch tires, Fox Live Valve shocks and the 10-speed automatic.
  • Stroppe Edition (from 2025): A tribute to Bill Stroppe's Baja racing Broncos, with the 2.7-liter V6, Fox internal bypass dampers, 35-inch tires and a stabilizer bar disconnect. It replaced the Wildtrak for 2025 as a two-door, then went four-door only for 2026.

The Sasquatch package

Sasquatch is Ford's factory package for bigger tires and more off-road hardware. At launch it included 35-inch mud-terrain tires (LT315/70R17) on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, electronic locking front and rear axles, a 4.7 final drive ratio, a high-clearance suspension with position-sensitive Bilstein shocks and high-clearance fender flares.

For 2021 it was optional on Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks and Badlands, and standard on Wildtrak and First Edition. It could not be paired with the manual until 2022. Tires and wheel finishes have changed since, so check the window sticker for the exact setup.

Two-door or four-door

The two-door rides on a 100.4-inch wheelbase and the four-door on a 116.1-inch wheelbase. At launch, every trim except Big Bend came in both body styles, while the later Raptor and Everglades were four-door only. The two-door lineup has narrowed since: for 2026, Ford Authority lists it only as Base and Badlands.

Engines and the manual

  • 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder: Offered with a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic. The manual is a Getrag unit with six regular gears plus a low crawler gear marked C.
  • 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6: 10-speed automatic only.
  • 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6: Raptor only, with the 10-speed automatic.

Every Bronco is four-wheel drive. Which trims offer the manual has shifted from year to year, so confirm it on the window sticker instead of assuming from the trim name.

How to confirm what you have

Packages such as Sasquatch, Black Diamond on Big Bend and Wildtrak on Badlands are add-ons, so the badge alone may not tell you the tire size or axle setup. The original window sticker or a dealer VIN lookup lists the trim, body style, engine and factory packages.
